canary. explains CBD and hemp laws in plain words. It is general information, not legal advice, and reading it doesn't make us your lawyer.

For a decision that matters, such as starting a business, shipping products or travelling with them, check the official source we link and talk to a licensed attorney in your state.

How we check facts

Every verdict shows the date it was checked and links to the official source it relies on. A state we haven't verified says "Being verified" instead of guessing.

Laws change, sometimes with little notice, and a court can block a law after we check it. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll recheck it.

Calculators

The THC and dosing calculators do arithmetic on the numbers you enter. The result is only as good as those numbers and the lab report they come from. They are not a lab test and not medical guidance.

No health claims

We don't say CBD treats, cures or prevents anything. Ask a doctor about health questions.

We link to state and federal websites and other sources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or availability.
